MACA Islamic Sunday School Program Activities

Welcome to the MACA Islamic Sunday School, where every Sunday is a vibrant journey of learning, growth, and community for young Muslims in Voorhees and South Jersey.

Registration for new students open

A child must be age 5 by August 30, 2025. The student’s birth certificate must be presented at the time of admission application.

Our Programs

At MACA, our Sunday School offers a variety of engaging activities in a warm, nurturing environment:

Starting early is always a good idea! Our school offers fun learning activities for all kids in kindergarten. Children will get to learn about Allāh — who He is, why we worship Him, and the blessings He gives us. To enroll in Kindergarten, kids need to be 5 years old by August 30th of the enrollment year, and a birth certificate must be provided during registration.

Classes begin in Kindergarten and go all the way up to Senior grade level. The Level 8 and Senior programs last for two years. Besides the regular subjects, upper-level classes also discuss current events and connect them to Islamic principles. Students will learn how to be proactive while being good Muslims and responsible citizens in our country.

Quranic Arabic

Dive into the treasure of Allah’s words by exploring the meanings, wisdom, and timeless guidance of the Quran. Students uncover key stories, themes, and values that shape faith and daily life—fostering a deeper love and personal connection with the Quran.

Quranic Recitation

Master the art of beautiful and accurate recitation with proper pronunciation (Tajweed). Students gain confidence, fluency, and reverence while reciting the Quran—nurturing a lifelong bond with Allah’s words. It’s not just recitation, it’s reciting with the heart.

Islamic Studies

Discover the foundations of Islam in a way that relates to everyday life in the U.S. From beliefs and acts of worship to character development, the Seerah (Prophet’s life), and ethical living, students gain the knowledge and confidence to live their faith authentically and beautifully.

Arts & Crafts and Contests

Interactive activities, such as art, essay contests, and group projects, help foster creativity and teamwork.

Community Events

Students participate in events that celebrate Islamic holidays, encourage service, and build community bonds in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Students will learn a full set of Arabic vocabulary and numbers, along with some grammar basics. As students graduate across higher levels, they should be able to read the Qur’ān correctly, using tajweed rules for proper pronunciation. They’ll also memorize certain sections and understand their meanings. Additionally, students will learn daily prayers, starting from the morning and going through the day until bedtime.

Nurturing Hearts and Minds Through Islamic Education

Our volunteer teachers are committed to providing affordable education that not only focuses on academics but also strengthens every child’s Islamic identity. With a focus on building confidence to overcome life’s challenges, we believe every child deserves this opportunity.
